Our initial goal was $20,000 to cover half the estimated cost of putting solar on the new portion of the TBH roof. This was the remaining amount was planned to come from a likely grant. Unfortunately, the grants turned out very difficult to receive, so we pressed on and found a way (with the help of very generous TBH donors) to raise the full amount (almost $25,000) of money we needed to self-fund the project.
The TBH solar team, attorney, and Board of Directors all had a detailed hand in contractor selection. In the end, Sun Path Electric was chosen based on their proposal, references, and other details.
Yes, Iila's B-Mitzvah occurred on Feb 18. All of her gifts went to donations towards TBH solar.
